Having had a passion for drawing since she was a child, Karin Littlewood eventually trained and qualified as an illustrator. I grew up in Norwich, sketching my family's pet cats and dogs constantly. My favourite subjects at school were always art and sport; any sport but lacross (I still don't understand that game!?). I apparently used to draw pictures for my favourite teachers!!!
I did a foundation course in art and design at the local art college; I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do- I just loved drawing! I totally failed my graphics and illustration module and had to re-do it -- lucky for me as I got a great mark the second time round and decided I quite liked it! By the time I had realized that illustration was what I wanted to do, it was far too late to apply for it at the universities, so I got on a new "combined course". It took me a year to be able to swap to the Illustration course and as soon as I did, my grades rose and I was so much happier!
I graduated in 2000, quite proud of myself. Since then I have been happily painting away, working mostly on children's books. My first picture book is out and I am currently attempting to write a children's story.
My long-term boyfriend, David and I bought a house at the begining of the year and are slowly trying to make it more homely, with the aid (or not) of our lovely, funny litte cat, Mooki (our baby!). I have also started to get extremely exited about growing our own vegetables.
